Riverstone starts home sales in final sections

Taylor Morrison and Darling Homes have begun pre-sales on some of the final lots in Riverstone as homebuilding in the Sugar Land area community draws to a close after two decades.

About 400 homes remain to be built of the projected 6,400 in the master-planned community developed by Johnson Development Corp.

The builders are marketing homes in the final sections in Avalon at Riverstone. Homes in the gated area off Hagerson Road will be built on 60-foot wide lots.

“After two decades of development we are reaching the end,” Trey Reichert, vice president and general manager of Riverstone, said in an announcement. “We have less than 400 sales opportunities remaining. Out of those, more than 285 are located in Avalon.”

The Taylor Morrison homes are price from the $420,000s and include studies, master suites and designer kitchens. Darling Homes’ plans are priced from the $490,000 and include spacious family rooms with oversized windows, media rooms and three-car garages.

For a number of years before sales began to wind down, Riverstone had been the top-selling community in Texas. The community sold 370 new homes last year, according to RCLCO real estate advisers.

Amenities include a resort-style pool, tennis courts, a splash pad, playground and a clubhouse with fitness center.
